The role of an international recruitment consultant is to provide a full 360 recruitment process on behalf of external clients by attracting and assessing relevant, qualified candidates and assisting them to fulfil their desire to work abroad. Given the varied cultures of different countries and the sometimes challenging work environments involved, you’ll also ensure that they meet strict criteria at every stage of the recruitment process and must qualify their suitability – and willingness – to handle the realities of overseas work.
With increasing globalisation, growing numbers of an international recruitment consultant’s clients are overseas, so it is imperative that you are able to form strong relationships using all the modern media channels available. Jobs tend to be only complete once the successful candidate has been deployed overseas, therefore, perhaps even more so than in ‘normal’, UK recruitment, you really need to understand your candidates so as to make their transition to an overseas posting simple and enjoyable. An important part of the role may involve handling visa and travel arrangements, as well as advising on living conditions in various countries.
